This service is provided at a no cost to you, and it allows us the ability to understand your needs, priorities and desires. As the builder of your home, it is our obligation to guide and direct you through numerous decisions and possibilities. Our ability to provide good direction relies on the professional opinion of our staff, vendors and subcontractors with whom we consult. Styles change, new products are introduced and new techniques are always improving. So it is important to be flexible enough to flow with these changes, but with grounded discernment as not all new varieties, trends and products will stand the test of time.

True custom designs require addressing the specific needs of each client from the onset, and by doing so we bring to you a balance of sound reasoning and value. At Robert S. Thornton Great Homes, we want to form a team with you - the client, the architect/designer, our entire staff and vendor group. If the team is right in the beginning, the product will be outstanding in the end.

On rare occasions, we do work with existing plans, however it is extremely valuable for us to take you from conception to completion in order for you to have a successful building experience. If an architect/designer has not been chosen, we try to match each client with an architect/designer that we feel will most enhance their specific design application as well as fit their personality. By growing this project with you, it allows us to better assist you in recommendations, writing up your specifications, staying within your budget and heading off constraints that may arise.
